From basic beginnings in 1942 as a basement operation, Fusite has grown into a multinational corporation. Fusite is an innovative market leader that continues to set the pace for its industry. Over 1 Billion refrigerator and air conditioning compressors are now in service with Fusite hermetic seals. Every major producer of AC and appliance compressors in North and South America, Europe and Asia uses Fusite terminal seals manufactured in one of four facilities strategically located around the world. While we enjoy a rich history at Fusite, we believe the best is yet to come!

Fusite founded by W.A. Barrows spurred by the needs of the military in 1944, Fusite combines the glass-to-metal sealing technologies and resistance welding to create an improved electrical feedthru for the hermetic compressor industry.

Fusite manufactures breakthrough feed-thrus that revolutionize the hermetic compressor industry by developing a single-weld application, thereby replacing the cumbersome bolt/nut/washer feed-thru. This innovation becomes the industry standard.

Fusite moves to present location and develops a new high-horsepower hermetic terminal, boosting the terminal rating from 1 to 7 1/2 horsepower at 220 volts. This significant development opens the Air-Conditioning market, a market that continues to be a major source for Fusite terminals today.

European production facilities established in Almelo, Holland. Fusite enters Europe by building a production facility in Almelo, Holland. Initially concentrating on hermetic Appliance Terminal production, this facility serves the Western and Eastern European markets with Glass-to-Metal seals for Lithium Batteries, Electronic, Military and Commercial applications.

Fusite Japan established in Gotemba, Japan. Fusite enters the Asia market with a local manufacturing production facility in Gotemba, Japan. Fusite Japan has helped design and manufacture GTM seals for all of the Asian Market.

Precision Metal Products division of Fusite formed to supply basically all of Fusite's worldwide metal stampings requirements. Market diversification and development of new products contribute to the success of Stampings. New markets include the Automotive, Appliance and HVAC/R.

Manufacturing facilities established in Bao'an, China. Fusite continues to support the growing needs of the Asian market by placing a second Asian manufacturing facility in China.
